Information on the purchasing process may also be found in our investment information /FAQ's.  It starts with the reservation of a property and you may then wish to take an inspection trip to Bulgaria.

Note that once you have found your property, you have to determine whether the sale is with land or not because according to the Bulgarian Constitution and legislation foreigners as persons can acquire only buildings but not land. Only Bulgarian citizens and legal persons (including such with a foreign owner) can obtain the ownership of Bulgarian land.

In the case of land ownership it will be necessary to register a commercial company in your name in order to secure it.

The cost of living in Bulgaria is on a par with the lowest in Europe.  Melnik(Churchill's favourite tipple) is around £1.00 per bottle!  Taxi rides cost about £1.00 and dinner for two including wine will rarely exceed £7.00.

Visa Requirements Following the entry of Bulgaria into the EU Visas are required by all except the following: nationals of EU countries for stays of up to 90 days within each six-month period (except nationals of Estonia, Ireland and the UK, who may stay for up to 30 days within a six-month period); Note: UK nationals living overseas do need a visa.
